Betty's History Highlights
• Born October 1916, Portland Oregon.
• 1925 - Started at the age of 9 on ice.
• Gave exibitions on ice for 10 yrs.
• 1932 - Turned to rollers as rinks didn't close for summer.
• After 7 yrs of amateur, Betty turned professional at 16yrs old.
(First on ice, then at Imperial & Oaks roller rinks in Portland.)
• 1933 - She gave Perry D. Rawson his first lesson.
• 1934 - Returned or Oregon to teach ice again.
• 1941 - Managing & teaching at Hi-Way & New Dreamland Arena's, N.J.
(Also, recently married to Bill Meier).

• 1940s - Licensing of her name for skating products.
• 1948 - Published a series of newspaper articles about learning to skate.
• 1949 - Ads for smoking! Oh My!!!
• 1949 - Still listed as teaching at New Dreamland, N.J.
• 1955 - New Dreamland, N.J. closed & became a bowling alley.
• 1958 - Presently residing with her husband, speed skater Bob Ringwald in Newark, N.J.
(Roller Skating News June 1958. No other info found yet from 1959 - 1972.)
• 1973 - RIP Betty Lytle, August 7, 1973, with her husband, Bob Ringwald in St. Augustine, Florida.
